Expect Heavy Rainfall

Kenya Meteorological Department issues a heavy rainfall alert, warning of downpours exceeding 20mm in 24 hours across parts of the Lake Victoria Basin, Rift Valley, Highlands West and East of the Rift Valley, Nairobi, and southeastern lowlands from 9 March 2025.

Rainfall intensity is expected to increase to over 30mm in 24 hours on 10 March, spreading to northwestern Kenya before reducing on 11 March.

Heavy Rainfall alert

Residents in affected counties, including Nairobi, Kisumu, Nakuru, and Turkana, have been urged to remain vigilant against potential floods, flash floods, and lightning strikes.
