A strike team from the 8 Division of the Nigerian Army has successfully neutralized 11 bandits and recovered a large cache of weapons in Sokoto State. This operation was part of a broader effort to combat banditry and terrorism in the region.
The team carried out a well-planned ambush near Kurawa Village in the Sabon Birni Local Government Area. Their actions thwarted a planned attack on Tara Village, a key location for terrorist and bandit movements. Acting on reliable intelligence, the team engaged the bandits in a fierce firefight.

As a result, they neutralized 11 bandits. Some managed to escape with gunshot wounds. The troops seized 8 AK-47 rifles, 5 magazines, and 26 rounds of 7.62mm ammunition.
This mission not only prevented a potential terrorist attack but also weakened the bandit network in the Sabon Birni area, known for recent violence. The troops’ quick response underscores their dedication to safeguarding the lives and property of citizens in Sokoto State and its surroundings.
