When my wedding plans kept failing again and again, I finally found a reason that made sense

I have always been a hopeful woman who believes that love is something worth waiting for. For many years, I dreamed of getting married, building a small home, and starting a family. But no matter how close I came, something always went wrong.

The first time, my fiancé and I had already started planning our wedding. We had chosen the church, bought some items, and even printed the invitation cards. Then, out of nowhere, he started avoiding me. He said he needed space, and within weeks, the relationship was over. It broke me.

Two years later, I met another man who was kind and caring. We got along so well that I thought my past heartbreak was finally behind me. He met my family, and we began saving for a small ceremony. But just two months before the date, he lost his job and suddenly became distant. The wedding never happened. I told myself maybe it was just bad luck, but deep inside, I was beginning to worry.

By the third time it happened, I was tired. My friends had started getting married one by one, while I was still stuck in the same place. I began asking myself whether there was something wrong with me. My mother told me that sometimes things fail not because we are cursed but because our paths are not yet ready. She said maybe I needed to understand myself better before rushing again.

So I took time to reflect. I spent more time praying, reading, and taking walks in the evening. I started focusing on my small tailoring business instead of worrying about when someone would marry me. During that time, I began to heal emotionally. I learned that rushing love out of fear or loneliness often brings more pain.

Months later, I met someone different. He was calm, patient, and honest. Unlike the others, he did not hurry me into anything. We took things slowly, became friends first, and truly got to know each other. For the first time, I felt peace in my heart. We did not talk about weddings or rings for a long time — we just built trust.

Two years later, we held a simple traditional ceremony surrounded by family and friends. It wasn’t grand or expensive, but it was beautiful. Everything flowed easily without any last-minute problems. That day, I understood what my mother meant when she said the right things come at the right time.

Now, when I look back at all those failed weddings, I don’t feel pain anymore. I see them as lessons that shaped me into the woman I am today — patient, wise, and calm. Sometimes things fall apart not to hurt us, but to prepare us for something better.

So if you’ve been facing disappointment after disappointment, don’t lose hope. Take a step back and listen to life. Maybe it’s not rejection, maybe it’s redirection. In the end, everything falls into place when the time is right. Read more.
