Police officers on patrol in Kinoo, Kiambu County, have rescued a Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS) officer from a gang of suspected robbers. The rescue followed a swift response to a report of a suspicious vehicle in the early hours of 6 October 2025.
Upon approaching the vehicle, its occupants attempted to flee. After a chase, two suspects were arrested.
A man who had been tied up and blindfolded in the vehicle’s boot was rescued and was later identified as a KWS officer travelling to Nairobi. He reported that money had been taken from his mobile wallet and that the suspects had been robbing passengers along the route.
Police recovered several stolen mobile phones from the arrested suspects. Investigations are ongoing, with further operations underway to apprehend additional suspects who fled the scene.
The National Police Service has commended the prompt action of the officers involved. Members of the public are urged to report any suspicious activity via the toll-free hotlines 999, 911, or 112, or anonymously through #FichuaKwaDCI on 0800 722 203 or WhatsApp 0709 570 000.
