I am a woman who has seen both sides of life the deep struggles and the sweetness of finally standing on my own feet.

I was born in a humble village, raised by a widowed mother who sold vegetables at the roadside to feed us. I promised myself that one day I would lift my family out of poverty. After college, I worked tirelessly and saved every coin. Finally, I opened my own salon in the town center.

What started as a tiny salon grew into one of the most classic salon /spa in town. Through it, I managed to buy a small plot, build a decent house for my mother, and put my younger siblings through school. My salon was more than just a business it was my pride, my sweat, my future.

But success doesn’t always bring applause.

Some friends turned into silent enemies. Relatives who had ignored me before started showing up, pretending to be happy for me. I started feeling strange tension around me.

One day I found the padlock of my shop twisted and broken, yet nothing had been stolen. A few weeks later, a fire mysteriously broke out in the stockroom and destroyed new wigs and stock worth hundreds of thousands of shillings.

The worst incident came when two thugs attacked me at the shop’s entrance one evening. They tried to snatch my bag but suddenly stopped midway, stared behind me in shock as if they saw something terrifying and bolted. I stood there shaking, realizing that what I was facing was no longer ordinary.
