The Bungoma Governor Ken Lusaka has shared a full information about the allegations made by the Sirisia member of parliament Hon John Waluke on no development projects within the county. “My attention has been drawn to the reckless and laughable utterances by Sirisia MP John Waluke during a recent interview, where he peddled baseless claims of rampant corruption in Bungoma County.
First, he had the audacity to dismiss the garbage collection tender, claiming that there is no rubbish to be collected in Bungoma. One can only wonder whether he was speaking out of sheer ignorance or if he simply lacks the capacity to appreciate basic civic operations. Either way, such absurdity can only be conjured up by a man of his caliber.
He went further to claim that there is no record of development in Bungoma. Perhaps the honorable member is suffering from a severe case of selective blindnessβbecause if he took even a cursory look around, he would see tangible progress in infrastructure, healthcare, and economic empowerment. But alas, it seems he prefers to exist in a self-imposed state of oblivion.
Now, if there is anyone least qualified to pontificate about corruption, it is Waluke. This is a man whose infamy is well-documentedβa convicted felon who defrauded Kenyans of maize meant to feed starving citizens. The irony of a man with such a tainted past lecturing others on integrity is nothing short of comical.
His history is equally tellingβfrom his days in the military, where he served as a junior officer but somehow found the audacity to forge the title of a “major,” to his current struggles in managing his own CDF kitty. In fact, the Auditor General recently flagged a staggering Ksh 35 million in fictitious bursary allocations under his watch. If anything, he should focus on clearing his own backyard before attempting to lecture others.
As leaders, we owe it to our people to uphold mutual respect and decorum, not to engage in petty mudslinging and outdated theatrics. Constructive criticism is always welcome, as it serves to refine service delivery, but I will not entertain blatant lies and cheap blackmail.
As Governor, my commitment remains steadfastβto propel Bungoma forward through visionary leadership and meaningful development. And no amount of noise from individuals seeking relevance will deter that mission”, governor Ken Lusaka said.
